Privacy Policy — GamerX Android App

This policy covers the GamerX app for Android (com.gamerx.gamerx). There is no account to create, so there is very little of yours for us to hold.

Last updated: 1 October 2026. This describes how the app currently works. If that changes we will update this page rather than change our practices quietly.

The GamerX website has its own policy at gamerx.live/privacy. They are different documents on purpose: the website runs analytics and shows ads, and the app does neither. Where they differ, this page is the one that applies to the app.

There is no account

The app never asks you to sign up or sign in. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location or payment details, and there is no screen in the app that asks for any of them. Every one of the games is free and none of them takes a payment.

What is stored on your device

Games that keep a high score need some way to recognise you next time, so the first time you play one, our server issues a random player ID and the app keeps it on your device. It is a random string. It is not derived from your phone, your advertising ID or anything else about you, and it identifies a save file rather than a person.

  • A player ID — a random identifier, so your scores are still yours the next time you open the app.
  • A display name, only if you type one — the name shown beside your score on a leaderboard. Leave it alone and you stay anonymous.
  • Game progress — whatever an individual game saves, such as a best score or which level you reached.

All of it lives in the app's own storage on your phone. Clearing the app's data, or uninstalling it, deletes the lot — including the link between you and any score you posted.

What is sent to our servers

  • Scores you post, with the player ID and the display name described above. This is what a leaderboard is.
  • Ordinary server request logs. Like any server, ours record the IP address, the time, and which file was asked for. We use these to keep the service running and to find faults.

Nothing else leaves the device. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers, advertisers or analytics companies.

Permissions, and the sensors we read

The app declares exactly one Android permission: internet access. It does not request location, storage, camera, microphone, contacts or any other permission, because it does not use them.

The app does read the accelerometer, which Android does not gate behind a permission prompt. It is used for one thing: tilting your phone shifts the artwork on the home screen slightly, as a visual effect. That reading is used on the device, in the moment, to move a picture. It is never recorded, never stored, and never sent anywhere.

No ads, and no third-party tracking

The app contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. You will not see an ad in it.

The games contact nothing but us. Each game runs in an embedded web view that loads only from gamerx.live, and every file a game needs — its code, models, sounds and fonts — comes from our own servers. An automated check runs against every game in the collection and fails if one ever starts making an outside request, so opening a game does not hand your IP address to a company you never chose.

The GamerX website does use Google Analytics and Google AdSense. The app does not load the website — it loads the games directly — so neither of those runs inside the app.

Children's privacy

GamerX is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the app asks for no personal information at all, the only field a child could fill in is the optional leaderboard display name. If you believe a child has entered something identifying, contact us and we will remove it.

Deleting your data

Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes the player ID, the display name and all game progress from your device. To have a score and its name removed from our leaderboards as well, contact us with the display name you used and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the app collects, we will update this page and change the date at the top before the change ships.
