Transform Race: Car, Lizard or Dolphin?

Every gate makes you choose a form. Match it to the ground ahead and you fly past everyone. Get it wrong and you crawl.

Transform Race puts four racers on a giant tower and makes you climb it. You do not steer much. What you do is pick a form at every gate, and that pick is the whole race.

The four forms

  • Car. Fastest thing in the game on flat road. Useless on a wall.
  • Lizard. Climbs. Slow on the flat, but the only form that gets up a steep face at any speed.
  • Dolphin. For water sections. Everything else in water is slow and sad.
  • Run. Your own two feet. Never the fastest, never the worst. It works anywhere.

That last one matters more than it looks. If you genuinely cannot tell what is coming, running is the safe pick. You lose a little to the racer who guessed right. You lose a lot if you guess wrong.

Read ahead, not at the gate

The camera sits high and looks well up the track. That is on purpose. By the time a gate banner is in front of you, the ground it applies to is already visible above it.

So do not look at the gate. Look past it. Flat brick means car. A wall going up means lizard. Blue means dolphin. Then pick the side that matches.

Getting it wrong is survivable

A wrong form does not end your race. It slows you down until the next gate, which is usually a few seconds away. So one bad pick costs you a place, not the race.

Two bad picks in a row is what actually loses it, because the field pulls away while you are still crawling. If you miss one, take the safe form at the next gate and get back in.

Racing your friends

Transform Race has rooms. One player makes a room and gets a four character code. Anyone you send it to types it in and joins. No account, no download, nothing to install.

A room holds four racers. If only two of you show up, the other two seats fill with computer players, so it is still a four way race.

🎮Everyone in a room races the exact same track. The layout is built from one shared number, so nobody gets an easier tower.
