How to play Fold Home

A strip of papercraft terrain climbs a hillside, and each panel of it swings on a crease. A bold dashed outline shows exactly where the panel has to land, and it stays in sight even when the paper swings over it. Tap when the paper covers the outline: PERFECT or NICE locks the fold into place, the fox hops onto it and the FOLDS LEFT count drops by one. Tap too early or too late and you get OOPS, with TOO HIGH or TOO LOW to say which way: the paper springs back and keeps swinging, the fox stays where it is, you lose one of your three hearts and you try that fold again. Lose all three hearts and the path breaks: NO PATH. Land every fold and the fox runs home. Stars: three if every fold was PERFECT, two if at least half were, one otherwise, and every OOPS costs a star.

Tips

Watch the far edge of the paper against the far edge of the outline. That is where a miss shows first.
The swing moves at a steady speed, so the rhythm you find on the first fold of a level holds for the rest of it.
A miss does not move you on, so there is no need to rush the retry. Let the paper come round again.
Three stars needs every fold PERFECT and no OOPS at all.

About Fold Home

Fold Home is a timing game with a single button, and its charm is that the thing you are timing is a physical object rather than a moving bar. Each panel really swings on its hinge, and the dashed outline lies exactly where the fold will land, so lining the paper up by eye is the whole skill. The papercraft look supports that: creases, paper thickness and soft shadows make the hinge easy to read, and the fox hopping onto each finished panel is the reward for reading it right. Three hearts rather than one keeps a run recoverable, which matters for something this short, and the stars make the clean run the real goal.
