Territory conquest
Real-time territory conquest on a procedural map: every region you hold grows its own army, and a tap sends a wave of units flowing to swallow a neighbor or reinforce your line. Rival factions are doing the same thing at the same time. Outgrow them, outpace them, and paint the whole map your colour before they corner you.

A map is divided into regions, and every region you hold slowly grows its own army. Tap one of your regions to select it, then tap a neighbour to send a wave of units there. Send them into an enemy region and they fight whatever is defending; send them into your own and they reinforce it. Rival factions are doing exactly the same thing continuously, so this is real time and there is no turn to wait for. Because armies grow where they sit, holding a region is itself productive, and the central tension is between spending units to expand and leaving them to accumulate. Take the whole map and you win.
Turf Rush is the real-time territory game in the tradition of Galcon and its many descendants, on a procedurally generated map so no two matches share an opening. What makes the format durable is that the whole game is one decision - where to send units - repeated under time pressure, with the strategy emerging from the growth rates rather than from any rules you have to learn. There are no unit types, no tech tree and no resources beyond the armies themselves. It is also one of only two games on this site drawn with 2D canvas rather than WebGL, which suits it: a strategy map wants clarity and instant readability far more than it wants lighting.
