Stack runner

Cube surfer stack runner: build the tower and keep it

Stack cubes, dodge cutters, and pave your path to the flag.

A hyper-casual stack-runner: swipe to steer a growing tower of cubes down a sky-high track, pick the right gates, dodge spike bars and lava pits, then spend your stack tile-by-tile to bridge the finish and reach the flag.

How to play Cube Rush 3D

You steer a growing tower of cubes along a track suspended in the sky, dragging or using left and right. Gates add cubes to the stack or take them away, and spike bars and lava pits knock them off, so the height of your tower is in constant motion. The twist is at the end: to cross the final gap to the flag you lay your cubes down as paving, one tile at a time, spending the tower you spent the whole level building. That means the stack is not a score, it is a budget, and arriving with plenty is the only way to finish. A run that reaches the end with three cubes has lost just as surely as one that fell off.

Tips

  • Height is currency, not vanity. Judge every gate by whether it gets you to the finish with enough to pave, not by how tall it makes you look.
  • A spike bar takes a fixed number off the top. Taking one deliberately to line up a much better gate is often correct.
  • Look at the gate pair before you commit to a lane. The bad one is sometimes on the side the track is already pushing you toward.
  • The tower sways as it grows. Steer earlier and less at the top end of a run.

About Cube Rush 3D

Cube Rush 3D takes the stack-runner shape and gives it an ending that justifies the stacking. In most games of this kind the tower is simply a score multiplier, so the last thirty seconds are risk-free; here the tower is consumed to build the bridge to the flag, which means the accumulation phase has a target rather than a maximum, and the tension holds all the way to the final metre. The sky track keeps the hazards silhouetted against open background so a spike bar is visible in good time, which matters when the stack's sway makes precise late steering impossible. It is a short game, deliberately - a run is a couple of minutes.

Cube Rush 3D vs Cube Surfer

Collect cubes, stack them under you, and duck the bars that would take the stack apart. Cube Rush 3D keeps that and makes the height matter in both directions: a tall stack reaches the high collectables and is also the thing a low bar destroys, so there is a real decision about when to stop growing.

Cube Surferis someone elseโ€™s game and not affiliated with GamerX. It is named here because it is the clearest way to describe what Cube Rush 3D is.

Questions

What are the cubes for in Cube Rush 3D?
They are spent at the end. The final gap is crossed by laying your cubes as paving tiles, so the tower you build during the level is the budget that gets you to the flag.
Why can I not reach the flag?
You arrived with too few cubes to pave the whole gap. The fix is upstream - take better gates and lose fewer cubes to hazards.
How do I steer?
Drag on a touchscreen, or use the left and right arrows. The taller the stack the more it sways, so steer earlier as it grows.
Can I play Cube Rush 3D on a Chromebook, at school, or on a phone?
Yes on a Chromebook. Cube Rush 3D draws with WebGL, which every Chromebook has had for years, and it is built for integrated graphics rather than a dedicated card. On a school or office network there is nothing here for a filter to object to on the usual grounds: no download, no installer, no browser plugin, no account, no chat and no user-generated content. Whether your particular filter lets it through is its decision and not something any site can promise. It plays on a phone with touch controls, held upright, and on a keyboard if you have one.
